Application Engineer – Noise, Vibration, Harshness and Thermal

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Application Engineer you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the general industrial and medical equipment market. This is an exciting position working in an attractive technical environment. This position requires an individual with strong leadership skills, who is a good decision maker with the ability to collect facts and separate symptoms from problems in the area of acoustics and thermal engineering. Typical development activities will take place in a hybrid office, Acoustic Technology Center, and in the field with customers.

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Leading efforts to drive growth through customer collaborations, new application development, and new product commercialization

Providing increased coordination of field trials with lead customers or evaluating local competition and marketing practices

Replicating and developing high impact product/market application with a focus on new application development and efficient replication leveraging e-tools

Leading programs of major importance to Aearo’s interests leading to and/or supporting innovative application and extensions of existing technologies, products, or businesses

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering or related field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

One + (1) years of experience in acoustics and vibration field in a private, public, government or military environment.

NVH Test Engineer

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position will lead and perform noise, vibration, harshness, and thermal management testing projects.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Managing and performing testing to validate the solution for full vehicle and component
  • Analyzing test results and making recommendations for requirement verification of the product or solution
  • Developing, implementing, and standardizing advanced test methods and procedures
  • Working collaboratively with development engineers, application engineers, and account managers to support design and product optimization.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in a science or engineering discipline
  • Three (3) years of NVH or Acoustics experience in a private, public or military environment.
