Tom Flaherty is the Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain for Aearo Technologies. Tom launched his career in manufacturing after earning his engineering degree at Penn State with The Budd Company, a tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry. It was during this time that he designed novel systems and managed complex projects that drove impactful results. Tom was selected to represent the large industrial customer base as a founding member of the Sustainable Development Fund, a venture capital fund set up to promote clean and renewable energy.

Tom has been with Aearo for the past 20 years, progressing through various engineering and project management roles while cultivating his passion for developing future leaders. As the site manager for the company’s location in Newark, DE, Tom successfully led the site through numerous challenges and growth opportunities. As Director of Manufacturing for Aearo, he oversees the company’s worldwide operations in the United States, China, and Mexico.  In his spare time, Tom cherishes time spent with his wife of 33 years and their six children. He also enjoys many varied interests including gardening, growing tropical plants, woodworking, rooting for his hometown Philadelphia teams, and his classic 1985 Lincoln Town Car.
